Journey
Fees
Fees made crystal clear
Deciding to pay for financial advice is a big step. You’re placing your finances and your future in someone else’s hands. You’ll find yourself wondering who you can trust, how to know if the advice is right for your needs, and whether it represents good value for money.
We understand how you feel, so we’re open about our fees from the outset. By setting them out clearly on our website, it makes the decision a little easier and answers a few questions before you get in touch.
Ongoing financial advice service
Initial discussion and information gathering
Cost: Free
Your first meeting is an opportunity for us to understand your goals, gauge what you want your money to achieve, and see how we can help. It’s a relaxed, free, no-obligation conversation, over the phone or in person.
Recommendations, report and implementation
Cost: 2% of assets invested, subject to a minimum fee of £3,000 and a maximum of £20,000.
Once we understand your entire financial landscape, including pensions, investments, and policies, we will put together recommendations to suit your goals. We’ll produce a report, explained in clear, everyday language, so you can see how each option works. Once you’re happy with our recommendations, we will also implement them on your behalf.
What’s included?
- Completing a thorough review of your existing arrangements
- Establishing your attitude to and understanding of risk
- Communicating with any existing providers
- Producing a financial plan that’s bespoke to your needs
- A face-to-face meeting to present our plan and discuss our recommendations
- Preparing and submitting the documents needed to set up a recommended pension, investment, or protection product
- Implementing our recommendations
- Liaising with other professionals where relevant.
As an example…
If you had £250,000 of assets to invest and you wanted recommendations and a report with ongoing service, we would charge a one-off fee of £5,000.
Ongoing advice
Cost: 0.75% of the value of your investments, subject to a minimum of £1,500 per year.
We’ll meet at least once a year to review your goals, track progress, and make adjustments if your circumstances change. The aim is to ensure your finances continue to give you confidence for whatever life brings next. We’re also available throughout the year should any questions or needs arise between meetings.
What’s included?
- A yearly meeting to review your full financial picture, including your circumstances, goals, protection, pensions, and savings
- Telephone and email access to your adviser throughout the year
- Reviewing your financial goals, objectives, and personal circumstances
- Reviewing the ongoing suitability of your investments
- Reassessing your attitude to risk.
As an example…
If your investments are valued at £250,000, we would charge an annual fee of £1,875.
Standalone advice
Cost: 3% of assets invested, subject to a minimum fee of £4,500.
If you require an annuity or another standalone service that does not include ongoing support, a one-off fee will apply.
As an example…
If your investments are valued at £250,000, we would charge a one-off fee of £7,500.
Value where it matters
Standard Life’s Retirement Voice 2025 report found that 67% of people who use a financial adviser have “a clear vision for what my life overall will be like in five years’ time”, compared to just 39% of those who don’t use an adviser.
What happens with VAT?
The fees quoted are exclusive of VAT, and no VAT will be added. Should we need to charge VAT in the future, we will advise you in advance.
What about commission?
We rarely take commission. However, for non-advised services, if commission is available, you can either let us keep the commission or pay us an adviser charge instead. If you choose the commission option, we’ll let you know how much we receive.
